Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Cambridge Lower Secondary and IGCSE curriculum.
- Teach topics related to History, Geography, Global Perspectives, Civics, Economics, and other Social Studies disciplines as applicable.
- Prepare yearly plans, unit plans, lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and assessments.
- Use inquiry-based, project-based, and experiential learning strategies.
- Integrate current affairs and global issues into classroom discussions.
- Prepare students for Cambridge Checkpoint and IGCSE assessments where applicable.
- Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate academic records, grades, and progress reports.
Classroom Management
- Create a positive, inclusive, and student-centered classroom environment.
- Encourage critical thinking, research, collaboration, and independent learning.
- Maintain classroom discipline in accordance with school policies.
- Promote respect for different cultures and perspectives.
Student Development
- Mentor and guide students in their academic and personal growth.
- Encourage participation in debates, Model United Nations (MUN), exhibitions, field trips, and social science projects.
- Identify students requiring additional academic support and provide intervention.
Curriculum & Professional Development
- Participate in curriculum planning and development.
- Attend departmental meetings, workshops, training sessions, and Cambridge professional development programmes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching practices and student outcomes.
- Stay updated with Cambridge curriculum changes and educational best practices.
Parent Communication
- Communicate student progress regularly with parents.
- Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and provide constructive feedback.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain student attendance and academic documentation.
- Support school events, examinations, assemblies, educational trips, and co-curricular activities.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Principal or Academic Coordinator.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Social Science, or a related field.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Cambridge teaching certification or training will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in the Cambridge curriculum preferred.
- Experience teaching Cambridge Lower Secondary and/or IGCSE Social Studies subjects is desirable.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong classroom management abilities.
