About the Role
We are looking for a practical and dependable Application Support Engineer to manage and maintain a live MERN-stack application in production.
This is a hands-on technical role focused on keeping the application stable, operational, and updated. You will work across server infrastructure, deployments, debugging, UI fixes, API troubleshooting, database adjustments, and routine maintenance tasks.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving real-world technical problems, maintaining live systems, and independently figuring things out when issues arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor the live MERN-stack application hosted on Linux VPS servers
- Handle deployments, updates, restarts, and production troubleshooting
- Investigate and resolve backend, frontend, and API-related issues
- Make application changes, fixes, and UI adjustments when required
- Review logs, debug failures, and identify root causes of issues
- Manage MongoDB databases, including occasional manual data corrections
- Maintain integrations and external API functionality
- Ensure application uptime, stability, and overall operational health
- Configure and maintain domains, SSL, firewall rules, ports, and server access
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders regarding bugs, fixes, and operational issues
- Use GitHub for version control and deployment workflows
Required Skills
- Experience working with Node.js, React.js, and MongoDB applications
- Comfortable managing Linux servers using SSH/CLI
- Basic understanding of deployments, Nginx, SSL, domains, and VPS environments
- Ability to debug issues independently across frontend, backend, and infrastructure
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub workflows
- Comfortable reading existing codebases and making modifications when needed
- Problem-solving mindset with willingness to learn and troubleshoot independently
Preferred Skills
- Experience with self-hosted MongoDB environments
- Familiarity with Google Maps APIs or Mapbox integrations
- Exposure to Cloudflare services, object storage, or CDN systems
- Experience handling production support or live applications
- Understanding of REST APIs and backend debugging
- Familiarity with Docker, PM2, or process management tools
- Experience working in small teams or startup environments
- Comfortable using AI tools and technical documentation to solve issues efficiently
Work Expectations
- This is a support and maintenance-focused role for a live production application
- The role requires ownership, accountability, and practical troubleshooting ability
- Flexibility may occasionally be required during urgent production issues or outages
- Practical exposure to full application lifecycle management
Location: Kolkata (In-Office)
Experience: 1–4 Years
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
