Senior Production Designer (Contractor)

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Production Designer with advanced
Adobe InDesign expertise to support the production of high-volume catalogs, magazines, and marketing collateral across print and digital channels.
This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong publication production skills, and the ability to execute large-scale projects efficiently within established brand standards. While the primary focus is on production and execution, the ideal candidate is also capable of developing creative layout concepts, evolving existing design systems, and creating visually engaging solutions for feature pages, promotional campaigns, and editorial content.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience producing multi-page publications, a strong understanding of print and digital production workflows, and the ability to balance creative thinking with speed, accuracy, and quality in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Produce, update, and maintain high-volume catalogs, magazines, brochures, product guides, and other multi-page publications using Adobe InDesign. Develop and explore creative layout concepts for catalogs, magazines, promotional campaigns, and special editorial features. Create, revise, and format layouts for both print and digital distribution while ensuring consistency with brand standards and design systems. Interpret creative direction and translate it into compelling visual solutions that support business and marketing objectives. Evolve and extend existing design systems, templates, and publication formats while maintaining consistency across deliverables. Manage the flow and organization of large volumes of content, imagery, product information, and promotional messaging across complex layouts. Prepare press-ready files and digital assets according to production specifications, quality standards, and publishing requirements. Ensure accuracy in typography, pagination, image placement, layout consistency, and file preparation. Conduct thorough quality control reviews to ensure production-ready deliverables. Collaborate closely with marketing, merchandising, copywriters, project managers, and other stakeholders to implement revisions and meet project requirements. Present layout options and design recommendations to internal stakeholders when required. Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced production environment while meeting established deadlines. Maintain organized working files, templates, style libraries, and asset management systems. Support versioning, localization, content updates, and adaptation of existing publications and marketing materials. Identify opportunities to improve production workflows, efficiencies, and documentation.
Reporting & Working Relationships
Reports directly to the Manager / Senior Manager. Collaborates with internal creative, marketing, merchandising, and production teams across local and international offices. Works with external vendors, printers, and production partners as required.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of professional experience in production design, publication design, graphic design, or a related field. Demonstrated experience producing high-volume catalogs, magazines, retail circulars, product guides, or other multi-page publications. Strong portfolio showcasing both publication production expertise and creative layout development. Advanced proficiency in
Adobe InDesign, including styles, parent/master pages, templates, libraries, long-document management, and prepress preparation. Strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Experience preparing files for commercial printing and digital publishing. Strong understanding of print production processes, file specifications, color management, and publishing workflows. Knowledge of Figma and other Adobe Creative Cloud applications. Proficiency using Mac OS. Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in retail, publishing, advertising, or agency environments. Familiarity with digital publishing formats, interactive PDFs, online catalogs, and e-publications. Experience working with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems, content management tools, or product information databases.
