Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Azure Cloud Solution Architect with strong expertise in Database Administration (DBA), Database Architecture, and Cloud Migration. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in migrating enterprise databases from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure across multiple database platforms.
This role is focused on database architecture, migration strategy, performance optimization, modernization, and Azure cloud adoption, while collaborating closely with Architecture, DevOps, and Application teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end database migration projects from On-Premises to Microsoft Azure.
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing database architectures.
- Perform migration planning, execution, validation, and post-migration optimization.
- Develop capacity planning and database scaling strategies.
- Design and implement High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), backup, and recovery solutions.
- Execute zero or low-downtime migrations with data validation and reconciliation.
- Perform schema conversion, dependency analysis, and compatibility assessments.
- Optimize migrated environments for performance, scalability, availability, and cost efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical database performance and stability issues.
- Work closely with Architecture, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Application teams to ensure successful cloud adoption.
- Support enterprise modernization initiatives and database transformation programs.
Required Skills & Experience
- 15+ years of experience as a Database Architect/DBA.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Microsoft SQL Server
- MySQL
- PostgreSQL
- MongoDB
- Extensive experience in On-Premises to Azure Cloud migrations.
- Expertise in:
- Database architecture and modernization
- Capacity planning and scalability
- Performance tuning and optimization
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA/DR)
- Backup and recovery strategies
- Zero/Minimal downtime migration techniques
- Schema conversion and compatibility analysis
- Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale enterprise migration programs.
- Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
