Job Summary
We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant to oversee the Finance & Accounts function of our garment manufacturing and export business. The candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, taxation, statutory compliance, costing, banking, export finance, audits, budgeting, and supporting business decision-making. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in the garment/apparel industry with strong knowledge of manufacturing operations and export regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely closing of books of accounts.
- Review journal entries, ledger scrutiny, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare MIS reports, profitability analysis, and management dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Accounting Standards and company policies.
Manufacturing Accounting & Costing
- Monitor production costing, process costing, and garment-wise profitability.
- Review Bill of Materials (BOM), Standard Cost vs Actual Cost analysis.
- Monitor inventory valuation of fabric, trims, accessories, WIP, and finished goods.
- Conduct cost variance analysis and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
- Coordinate with Merchandising, Production, Stores, and Planning departments for cost control.
Export Finance & Commercial Operations
- Manage export documentation from a finance perspective.
- Monitor realization of export proceeds and foreign remittances.
- Handle Letter of Credit (LC), Bank Guarantees (BG), Packing Credit, and Export Credit facilities.
- Coordinate with banks regarding export finance and FEMA compliance.
- Ensure timely accounting of export incentives and government benefits.
Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Handle GST compliance, return filing, reconciliations, refunds, and assessments.
- Manage TDS, Income Tax, Advance Tax, and statutory filings.
- Coordinate tax audits and respond to departmental notices.
- Ensure timely compliance with all applicable statutory regulations.
Audit & Internal Controls
- Coordinate Statutory Audit, Internal Audit, Tax Audit, and GST Audit.
- Prepare audit schedules and resolve audit observations.
- Develop and strengthen internal financial controls.
- Ensure compliance with the Companies Act and applicable corporate regulations.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
- Perform budget vs actual variance analysis.
- Support management with financial planning and business performance analysis.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and profitability improvement.
Treasury & Working Capital Management
- Monitor daily cash flow and fund requirements.
- Manage banking relationships and credit facilities.
- Prepare cash flow projections and working capital reports.
- Coordinate with banks for loan documentation and renewals.
Accounts Receivable & Payable
- Review customer collections and vendor payments.
- Monitor debtor ageing and credit control.
- Reconcile customer and supplier accounts.
- Ensure timely settlement of export receivables.
ERP & Systems
- Ensure proper utilization of ERP for finance and inventory management.
- Improve accounting processes through automation and system enhancements.
- Coordinate with IT for ERP implementation and process improvements.
Team Management
- Lead and mentor the Accounts & Finance team.
- Allocate responsibilities and review team performance.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders including auditors, banks, consultants, and government authorities.
Qualification
- Chartered Accountant (CA) – Qualified (Mandatory)
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (Preferred)
Experience
- 5–10 years of post-qualification experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the Garment, Apparel, Textile Manufacturing, or Export Industry.
- Experience in manufacturing costing and export finance is essential.
