Purpose of the Role
To accomplish the Business objectives by establishing standards for Tool Design & Drawing for the ease of manufacturing and effective utilization of resources
Timely completion of Tool Design & Drawing as per agreed targets"
Timely delivery of Assembly jigs & Fixture to the shop floor inline with target plan to achieve organisational objectives
Reduce Setup time for production parts
Implement innovative ideas to reduce cost and improve productivity and efficiency
Cost Savings in Procurement of Raw Material, Bought out Item, consumables
Deliver jigs & Fixture at first time right (FTR) to minimize rejections during First Article Development.
Ensure quality of delivered jigs & Fixture are inline with Part Requirements
Create Jigs & Fixture concepts with latest technology to have Quick Action intent
Ensure to understand the customer requirements and proactive planning
Jig, Fixture and Tool requirement planning as per Assembly drawing, Model and process sequence
Develop Quick Action Jig concepts, 3D Modelling & Detailing and Creation of Manufacturing Drawings with in Solidworks software
Coordinate with SCM to get the competetive quote for Assembly jigs, fixtures and tools
Co-ordinate with Project Management to get design concepts approval and query clearance from customer
Quality check of deliverables with First Time Right and On Time Delivery
Defect Analysis and continuous improvement on tool designs / concepts
Prepare the Conceptual Tool Design and get HOD approval
Prepare the Final Tool Design and get HOD approval
Creating of Routing & Bill of Material in ERP for Tooling items
Ensure timely creation of Item number and Drawing preparation
Facilitate timely Tool manufacturing and Tool Inspection and coordination for Assembly FAI
Ontime PR raising for Jigs, fixtures and Tooling accessories
Generate the Non-Recurring cost invoice for the tools and submit for approvals with HOD
Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as Turning, Milling, Grinding, EDM, Wirecut operations, Sheet metal, Assembly process
Knowledge of Special Process such as Anodizing, Passivation, cadmium & Nickel plating, protective treatments, Welding, organic and inorganic coating
Knowledge of Limits,Fits & tolerances
Implement the requirements of Productivity improvement projects among entire Tool Design Team
Adhere and implement the TQM methodologies
Ensure adherence to Business Excellence processes in all activities related to the section
To attend daily Tool Design status review meeting and update the status
Utilise modern technology and incorporate into jigs and fixtures
First time designing the fixture concept for easy handling, movement and weight reduction
Guide and Co ordinate the team member to achive the target
Interact and support with CFT team members during challenging times, such as personal or professional difficulties.
