Job Summary
The Hair Trainer is responsible for delivering professional hair education to students through theoretical and practical training. The trainer will help students develop technical skills, maintain industry standards, and prepare them for successful careers in the hair and beauty industry.
Key ResponsibilitiesTraining & Education
- Conduct classroom and practical hair training sessions.
- Teach hair cutting, hair styling, hair colouring, chemical treatments, hair spa, and basic hair care techniques.
- Demonstrate professional salon techniques and best practices.
- Prepare daily lesson plans and practical schedules.
- Ensure students understand both theory and practical concepts.
Student Development
- Monitor students' progress and provide regular feedback.
- Conduct practical assessments and evaluate student performance.
- Motivate and mentor students throughout the course.
- Help students build confidence and improve their technical skills.
Classroom Management
- Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment.
- Ensure regular attendance and punctuality of students.
- Maintain training records and student performance reports.
- Ensure proper use and care of academy tools and equipment.
Practical Sessions
- Conduct live demonstrations and supervise practical sessions.
- Ensure students follow hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Guide students while working on mannequins and live models.
- Maintain cleanliness of the training area after every session.
Curriculum & Quality
- Deliver training as per the academy curriculum and SOPs.
- Keep updated with the latest hair trends, techniques, and products.
- Recommend improvements to the training curriculum whenever required.
Student Placement Support
- Prepare students for salon interviews and practical assessments.
- Guide students on professional grooming, communication, and customer handling.
- Support placement activities and career guidance sessions.
Administration
- Submit daily and weekly training reports.
- Maintain inventory of training products and tools.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the management.
Skills Required
- Strong technical knowledge of hair services.
- Excellent teaching and communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate practical techniques effectively.
- Leadership and mentoring skills.
- Patience and positive attitude.
- Good presentation and classroom management skills.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Office).
Qualification
- Certification in Hair Dressing / Hair Design / Cosmetology.
- Train the Trainer certification will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional salon experience.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Hair Trainer or Educator is preferred.

- Training quality and adherence to curriculum.
- Placement success of students.
- Classroom discipline and timely completion of the syllabus.
Working Hours
As per the academy's operational schedule.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in workshops, seminars, and academy events.
- Assist in student counselling and admissions when required.
- Support promotional activities, demonstrations, and academy open houses.
- Work closely with LOOKS Salon whenever practical training or live model sessions are scheduled.
- Maintain the professional image and values of LOOKS School of Hair & Beauty at all times.
