Job Summary
The Assistant Technician supports the service team in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial vehicles. The role involves assisting senior technicians, ensuring quality service, maintaining workshop safety, and contributing to customer satisfaction through timely and efficient vehicle repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist technicians in inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, and repairing commercial vehicles.
- Perform routine maintenance activities such as engine oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, lubrication, and general servicing.
- Support the repair and replacement of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
- Operate workshop tools and diagnostic equipment under supervision.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop and work area.
- Follow manufacturer service procedures and workshop standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Record service activities and assist in preparing job cards and maintenance reports.
- Assist in road testing vehicles after repairs when required.
- Report defects, safety concerns, and additional repair requirements to senior technicians.
- Participate in technical training programs to improve skills and product knowledge.
Qualifications
- ITI/Diploma in Automobile Engineering, Diesel Mechanic, Motor Mechanic Vehicle (MMV), or a related technical trade.
- Freshers are welcome; candidates with 1–2 years of experience in commercial vehicle service are preferred.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of commercial vehicle systems.
- Understanding of diesel engines, brakes, suspension, transmission, and electrical systems.
- Ability to use hand tools and workshop equipment safely.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet service timelines.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting tools and vehicle components as required.
- Willingness to work in a workshop environment and follow all safety practices.

Reporting To
Service Supervisor / Workshop Manager
Working Hours
As per company policy, including shift work and overtime when required.
Pay: ₹11,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
