About the Role
We are looking for a Site Inspector with practical experience and knowledge of the wood, plywood, laminate, timber, or allied wood industry. The candidate will be responsible for visiting customer/project sites, understanding product-related concerns, inspecting wood/plywood applications, identifying issues and coordinating with the concerned internal departments for suitable resolution.
The ideal candidate should have prior work experience in the wood industry and possess good technical understanding of wood and plywood products.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits for inspection of wood, plywood and related products.
- Understand and investigate client/customer complaints and grievances related to wood products.
- Identify possible causes of issues such as:
- Bending/warping
- Swelling
- Delamination
- Cracking
- Moisture-related issues
- Surface/finish defects
- Installation/application-related problems
- Prepare detailed site inspection reports with observations, photographs and recommendations.
- Communicate professionally with customers and explain technical findings.
- Coordinate with Quality, Production, Sales and Technical teams for complaint resolution.
- Follow up with customers until the issue is appropriately addressed.
- Maintain records of site visits, customer complaints and corrective actions.
- Provide feedback to the company regarding recurring product or application issues.
- Ensure timely reporting of critical customer complaints to management.
- Travel to customer/project sites within Kolkata and nearby locations as required.
Required Skills & Experience
- Mandatory: Previous experience in the wood/plywood/timber/wood products industry.
- Good practical knowledge of wood, plywood and allied wood products.
- Ability to understand and assess wood-related quality and application issues.
- Experience in handling customer complaints/grievances will be preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prepare inspection reports and maintain documentation.
- Problem-solving and analytical ability.
- Willingness to travel to customer/project sites.
- Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel will be an advantage.
Educational Qualification
- Graduate / Diploma in a relevant field will be preferred.
- Candidates with strong practical experience in the wood industry may also be considered.
Candidate Profile
The preferred candidate should be:
- From the wood/plywood industry.
- Technically sound in understanding wood-related problems.
- Customer-oriented and professional in handling grievances.
- Able to independently conduct site inspections.
- Good at coordinating with internal teams and customers.
- Responsible, disciplined and willing to travel for site visits.
Compensation
CTC: ₹15,000 – ₹20,000 per month, depending on experience, technical knowledge and suitability for the role.
