Transplant Coordinator
Job Description
Horizon Prime Hospital is looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Transplant Coordinator to manage and coordinate all activities related to organ donation and transplantation. The candidate will be responsible for donor and recipient coordination, counselling, documentation, regulatory compliance, and communication between multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and ethical transplant processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate organ donation and transplantation activities as per THOTA, NOTTO, ROTTO, and SOTTO guidelines
- Liaise with transplant hospitals and regulatory authorities for organ allocation and coordination
- Ensure completion and maintenance of transplant-related documentation and consent forms
- Coordinate donor identification, donor family counselling, and recipient preparation
- Facilitate communication between ICU, OT, surgeons, anesthesia, nursing, blood bank, and laboratory teams
- Coordinate OT scheduling, ICU bed allocation, transport arrangements, and transplant logistics
- Maintain transplant records, statutory registers, and reporting formats
- Conduct awareness and educational programs on organ donation and transplantation
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards, SOPs, legal, and ethical guidelines
- Support audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives related to transplant services
- Act as a single point of contact between donor families, recipients, clinicians, and regulatory authorities
Skills Required
- Good communication and counselling skills
- Strong coordination and documentation abilities
- Knowledge of THOTA Act, NABH standards, and transplant protocols
- Ability to work in emergency and critical care situations
- Compassionate, ethical, and patient-centric approach
- Good multitasking and organizational skills
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in transplant coordination, critical care, medical social work, or nursing
- Hospital transplant experience will be preferred
Qualification
- Graduate in Nursing / Life Sciences / Social Work / Allied Health Sciences from a recognized institution
- Certified Transplant Coordinator Course recognized by NOTTO / Government of India preferred
Working Hours
- 9hrs duty
- Candidates residing near Thane will be preferred
