Job Summary
We are looking for a Road Transport & Logistics Executive to manage end-to-end transportation operations for steel products across India. The candidate will be responsible for freight procurement, transporter coordination, rate negotiations, vehicle planning, inspection coordination, documentation, and ensuring the safe and timely delivery of materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain freight quotations from multiple transporters and finalize the most competitive rates based on destination, vehicle type, and delivery timeline.
- Calculate transportation costs for different cities and prepare freight quotations.
- Arrange and coordinate all types of commercial vehicles, including trailers, open trucks, containers, hydraulic trailers, and other vehicles as per load requirements.
- Plan and manage end-to-end logistics from material loading at the supplier/warehouse to unloading at the customer/project site.
- Track vehicle movement and ensure on-time delivery.
- Coordinate with transporters, suppliers, warehouses, customers, and project/site teams.
- Manage loading and unloading activities to ensure safe handling of materials.
- Handle delivery inspections with clients, third-party inspection agencies, and project authorities.
- Ensure compliance with inspection requirements before and at the time of delivery.
- Verify and maintain all logistics documentation, including:
- Lorry Receipt (LR)
- E-Way Bill
- Tax Invoice
- Delivery Challan
- Weighbridge Slip
- Test Certificates (TC)
- Inspection Reports
- Proof of Delivery (POD)
- Resolve transportation, inspection, and delivery-related issues promptly.
- Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR), dispatch reports, freight comparison statements, and logistics MIS reports.
- Maintain transporter database and evaluate transporter performance.
- Optimize freight costs while ensuring timely and safe deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with road transport regulations, company policies, and safety standards.

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of road transportation and freight management.
- Experience in freight rate calculation and transporter negotiations.
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle capacities and load planning.
- Familiarity with steel products and their transportation requirements.
- Good understanding of logistics documentation and inspection procedures.
- Strong communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
- Excellent planning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Qualification
- Graduate in Any Discipline or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management, or a related field.
Preferred Candidate
- 2–3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, or supply chain operations.
- Experience in the steel, infrastructure, construction, fabrication, or engineering industry will be preferred.
- Willing to travel and coordinate with transporters, vendors, customers, and project sites.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
