We are looking for a dedicated Software Engineer to help build and enhance our high-performance ODBC driver for Google BigQuery. In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers to develop core driver functionalities, integrate with Google Cloud APIs, and optimize data extraction processes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with a strong C/C++ background to dive deep into database internals, cross-platform development, and modern cloud data architectures.
Key Responsibilities

Feature Development: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented C/C++ code to build out functionalities for our ODBC 3.8 driver.

API Integration: Work with the BigQuery REST API and BigQuery Storage Read API to facilitate reliable data fetching and metadata retrieval.

Debugging & Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve bugs, memory leaks, and performance bottlenecks across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.

Testing: Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and prevent regressions. Monitor automated CI/CD pipelines.

Collaboration: Participate in code reviews, collaborate with QA to reproduce complex client issues, and work alongside senior engineers to design new driver features.
Required Qualifications

Experience: 3–4 years of professional software development experience.

Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in C and C++ (C++14 or newer).

Systems Knowledge: Good understanding of memory management, pointers, and multi-threading concepts.

Databases: Solid understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.

Tools: Experience using Git for version control, CMake for build systems, and standard debugging tools (e.g., GDB, Visual Studio Debugger).
Preferred Qualifications

Previous exposure to database connectivity APIs (ODBC, JDBC, ADO.NET) or database driver development.

Experience interacting with cloud services (GCP, AWS, Azure) and RESTful APIs.

Familiarity with cross-platform development (Windows API and POSIX).
