Interior Draftsman
Job Summary
The Interior Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, layouts, and documentation for interior design projects. This role works closely with interior designers, architects, project managers, and contractors to ensure design concepts are accurately translated into construction-ready drawings while complying with project specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings, construction drawings, and shop drawings for interior fit-out projects.
- Develop floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, and detailed joinery drawings.
- Convert conceptual sketches and design ideas into accurate technical drawings.
- Coordinate with interior designers, architects, engineers, and project teams to resolve design and technical issues.
- Revise drawings based on client feedback, site conditions, and design changes.
- Ensure drawings comply with local building regulations, standards, and project specifications.
- Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion.
- Maintain organised drawing records and document revisions.
- Conduct site visits when required to verify dimensions and existing conditions.
- Assist in quantity take-offs and material coordination where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Drafting, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in interior drafting or interior fit-out projects (experience level may vary by employer).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
- Knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max, or other drafting and modelling software is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of interior construction methods, materials, and detailing.
- Familiarity with building codes and industry standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of joinery and furniture detailing.
- Experience with commercial, residential, or hospitality interior projects.
- Ability to interpret architectural and MEP drawings.
- Strong problem-solving and coordination skills.
- Good organisational and time-management abilities.
Working Conditions
- Office-based with occasional site visits.
- May require working extended hours to meet project deadlines.
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
