- Safety Level: Medium (Involves driving, basic mechanics, and chemical handling).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform technical checks: Execute comprehensive PDI checklists, including fluid levels, battery health, tyre pressures, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose and fix minor faults: Clear software fault codes using diagnostic scanners, replace dead fuses, and fix minor trim rattles.
- Execute cosmetic detailing: De-wax exterior paintwork, remove transit protective films, vacuum interiors, and polish surfaces to showroom quality.
- Install basic accessories: Fit dealer-specific extras such as floor mats, registration plates, mud flaps, and badge emblems.
- Manage yard logistics: Drive, park, and organize inventory within the holding yard, ensuring safe vehicle movement.
- Complete digital clearance paperwork: Document inspection results in the dealership management system (DMS) to formally sign off on PDI clearance.
- Report major defects: Identify and escalate complex mechanical or bodywork issues to the workshop master technician.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Broad technical aptitude: Basic understanding of passenger car mechanics, electronics, and detailing techniques.
- Valid driving licence: Clean driving record is mandatory for moving inventory safely.
- High multitasking ability: Capacity to rapidly shift tasks from cleaning to mechanical inspecting without losing attention to detail.
- Tech-savviness: Proficiency with handheld diagnostic tools and digital tablet-based checklists.
- Experience: 1–2 years in an automotive dealership, valeting centre, or PDI hub.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹26,000.00 per month
