Job Role –
A Welder in a fabrication factory is responsible for joining metal components and structures using various welding techniques, ensuring the production of high-quality, precise, and structurally sound welded assemblies.
Key Responsibilities –
Welding Operations:
- Perform welding operations using techniques such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), ARC (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and oxyacetylene welding.
- Select the appropriate welding method based on project specifications, materials, and thickness.
- The welder should have a basic understanding of electrical connections required for welding and related activities.
- The welder should have knowledge of visual and fortress installation as part of the site execution requirements.
- Required to full fill responsibility of technician as well.
Blueprint Interpretation:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication plans to determine welding requirements, layouts, and dimensions.
- Ensure accurate alignment and fit of components before welding.
Material Preparation:
- Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, cutting, and shaping them to meet welding standards.
- Verify the accuracy of measurements and dimensions to ensure precise assembly.
Safety Compliance:
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), maintaining a safe workspace, and following hazard communication guidelines.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.
- The welder is responsible for maintaining 5S
Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment, including welding machines, gas cylinders, grinders, and related tools.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
Physical Requirements:
- Welders in a fabrication factory should have physical stamina and flexibility to work in various positions and environments, including confined spaces or at heights.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up to date with welding technologies, emerging techniques, and industry best practices.
- Participate in training programs and skills development to enhance welding proficiency.
Problem Solving:
- Identify and troubleshoot welding issues promptly, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and project timelines.
Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including welding logs, inspection reports, and material usage.
- Provide documentation for traceability and quality control purposes.
Key Performance Expectations and Behavioural Requirements –
- Avoid unplanned leave.
- Ensure timely arrival at the site.
- Avoid abusive behaviour, unwanted confrontation, and misconduct.
- Comply with document requirements: ID card, photo, visiting pass, work permit, gate pass, etc.
- Follow basic safety practices and manage PPE (helmet, shoes, etc.); loss of pay for the day for non-compliance.
- Use polite, respectful, and measured words when interacting with clients.
Pay: ₹15,892.60 - ₹18,348.44 per month
