- Collect and analyze family and medical histories
- Assess risk for inherited genetic disorders
- Explain genetic conditions and inheritance patterns
- Recommend and coordinate genetic testing
- Interpret and communicate test results
- Counsel patients on medical, emotional, and ethical implications
- Support patients in treatment or preventive care decisions
- Maintain patient records and documentation
- Collaborate with physicians, lab specialists, and healthcare teams
