Job Title: Sr. Electrical Design Engineer
Experience Level: 15+ Years
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer with the potential to grow into the Head of Electrical Design. The ideal candidate will lead the design and development of mission-critical systems for precision motion platforms used in defence and aerospace applications.
The role requires strong expertise in electrical system architecture, power electronics, motor control, EMI/EMC-compliant design, environmental qualification, and design validation.
The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing engineering processes, mentoring the electrical design team, interfacing with cross-functional departments, and ensuring compliance with stringent military and aerospace standards throughout the product lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field with strong industry experience
- Experience within Defence, Aerospace, Precision Motion, Industrial Automation, or High-Reliability Systems.
- Hands-on experience with EMI / EMC handling of large motion systems with emphasis on Quality Testing, filters, and validation.
- Hands-on experience with motion controllers, motors, servo drives, gyros and real-time systems where ground loop handling and shields are highly critical.

Mandatory Skills / Job Role:
1) Design complete electrical systems for precision motion platforms, servo systems and electromechanical assemblies.
2)Lead the design and development of electrical and electronic systems for precision motion control products.
3) Develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and BOMs.
Select electrical components including:
· Servo Drives, Motors and Power stages
· Circuit protection devices
· PLCs and industrial communication equipment
· Sensors including encoders, gyros, temperature sensors, etc
· MIL Connectors – mission critical
5) Design power distribution systems (24VDC, AC mains, UPS, battery-backed systems where applicable).
6) Design safe grounding and shielding schemes suitable for military and aerospace environments.
7) Design products with EMI/EMC compliance in mind from concept stage.
8) Develop shielding, grounding, filtering, cable routing, and enclosure strategies.
9) Support testing standards such as MIL-STD-461, IEC 61000, DO-160 etc.
10) Analyse EMI/EMC test failures and implement corrective actions. Work closely with external EMC laboratories.
11) Experience in preparing MIL standard drawings with EMI / EMC compliance
12) Experience working with Electro Optical Tracking Systems is an added advantage
13) Collaborate with production and systems engineering teams for complete system integration.
Technical Skills Required:
1) Expertise in Servo motors, encoders, motion controllers and encoders.
2) Strong practical experience with shielding, grounding, bonding, filtering, cable routing, noise reduction, conducted and radiated emissions, immunity testing, EMC troubleshooting and design modifications based on laboratory testing.
3) Experience with functional, qualification and environmental testing. Root Cause and Failure analysis and Corrective Action Implementation.
4) Knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001, IEC 60204, IEC 61000, MIL-STD-461, DO-160.
5) Software skills - EPLAN Electric P8 (Highly preferred). AutoCAD Electrical, Version control / documentation management systems
