Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and field-oriented Agronomist who will play a dual role in providing agronomic advisory and driving on-ground sales. The candidate will work closely with farmers, demonstrate product effectiveness, and support business growth through relationship building and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities1. Agronomy & Field Support
- Provide crop-specific advisory to farmers (nutrition, pest, irrigation practices)
- Conduct regular farm visits and monitor crop health
- Identify field issues and recommend suitable solutions
- Support trials, demonstrations, and result tracking
2. Sales & Business Development
- Promote and sell agri-input products (fertilizers, pesticides, seeds, etc.)
- Build and maintain relationships with farmers, dealers, and FPOs
- Achieve monthly and seasonal sales targets
- Generate leads and convert them into business
3. Demonstration & Farmer Engagement
- Conduct product demos and field days
- Organize farmer meetings, training sessions, and awareness programs
- Educate farmers on new technologies and best practices
4. Market Intelligence
- Gather insights on competitor products and pricing
- Provide feedback on product performance and farmer needs
- Identify new opportunities in the assigned territory
5. Reporting & Coordination
- Maintain daily field reports and sales updates
- Coordinate with internal teams for supply, logistics, and technical support
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture / Agronomy (B.Sc / M.Sc Agri)
- 1–4 years of experience in field agronomy or agri-input sales
- Strong knowledge of crops, fertilizers, and pesticides
- Willingness to travel extensively in rural areas
- Good communication skills in local language (Malayalam)
- Basic understanding of sales processes and customer handling
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with agri-input companies or distributors
- Hands-on experience in field trials and demonstrations
- Ability to influence farmer decisions through technical knowled
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹9,347.56 - ₹18,000.00 per month
