We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Geography Lecturer to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lectures, preparing course materials, assessing student performance, and fostering a stimulating learning environment. The ideal candidate should have strong subject expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for teaching and mentoring students.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lectures in Geography.
- Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment tools.
- Evaluate student performance through assignments, examinations, and presentations.
- Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.
- Encourage critical thinking, research, and practical application of geographical concepts.
- Stay updated with developments in Geography and incorporate current knowledge into teaching.
- Participate in curriculum development and academic quality assurance activities.
- Maintain accurate academic records and submit reports as required.
- Contribute to departmental meetings, workshops, seminars, and other institutional activities.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Geography (NET/SET/Ph.D. preferred as per institutional or regulatory requirements).
- Previous teaching experience at the college or university level is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of physical, human, environmental, and regional geography.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using digital teaching tools and learning management systems.
