Job Summary:
The Vendor and Contractor Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and contractors, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and optimizing procurement and service delivery. The role involves evaluating performance, negotiating contracts, and driving cost efficiency while ensuring quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Management:
Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors and contractors in line with company requirements.
Develop and maintain vendor evaluation and performance metrics.
Build long-term, strategic relationships with key vendors to ensure consistent quality and reliability.
Resolve vendor disputes and ensure adherence to contractual obligations. Contractor Oversight:
Supervise contractor performance and ensure timely project delivery.
Review and manage contracts, ensuring terms and conditions meet legal and operational standards.
Monitor compliance with safety, quality, and ethical standards. Procurement and Negotiation:
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service terms to achieve cost-effective outcomes.
Collaborate with internal teams to align vendor and contractor services with business needs.
Optimize the supply chain and procurement processes for better cost control and service delivery. Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure all vendor and contractor activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.
Maintain accurate records of agreements, payments, and performance evaluations.
Manage audits related to vendor and contractor compliance.
Risk Management:
Assess and mitigate risks associated with vendors and contractors.
Establish contingency plans for critical supplier or contractor disruptions.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in vendor or contractor management. Proven track record in contract negotiation and vendor relationship management.
Skills:
Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
Knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards. Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar.
Experience in [industry-specific vendor or contractor management, e.g., construction, IT, manufacturing]. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Vendor/Contractor performance scores.
Cost savings achieved through effective negotiation.
Compliance rate with contractual obligations.
Timeliness and quality of deliverables.
