You have four to seven years in product design, UI/UX, or interaction design, ideally on consumer-facing or high-scale products, and a portfolio that shows the journey — not just polished screens, but the problem, the process, and what shipped.
You're fluent in modern design tools — Figma above all — from wireframes through component libraries and interactive prototypes. Your fundamentals in typography, layout, color, and interaction design are strong, and you can articulate why a design works, to designers and non-designers alike. You're research-literate: you can plan and run a usability test, and you know the difference between what users say and what they do.
You collaborate credibly with engineers — you understand how responsive web and mobile interfaces are actually built, what's cheap versus expensive to implement, and how to spec a design so it survives contact with real data and edge cases.
