- 4–8 Years
- Experience in Automotive Sheet Metal Weld Shop is Mandatory.
Job Summary
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for planning, supervising and controlling daily weld shop activities to achieve production targets while ensuring Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety and Productivity (QCDSP). The candidate should have hands-on experience in resistance spot welding, MIG welding, fixture management and manpower handling in an automotive manufacturing environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Management
- Achieve daily production targets as per production plan.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines and resources.
- Monitor production efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Conduct shift handover and daily production meetings.
- Ensure smooth production flow without bottlenecks.
Weld Shop Operations
- Supervise Spot Welding, Projection Welding, MIG Welding and CO₂ Welding operations.
- Ensure correct welding parameters as per approved standards.
- Verify fixture condition before production.
- Monitor weld quality and nugget consistency.
- Ensure compliance with approved process parameters.
Quality
- Ensure production as per Control Plan and Work Instructions.
- Coordinate with QA for First-off Approval and Patrol Inspection.
- Control rejection, rework and customer complaints.
- Support Root Cause Analysis using 8D, 5 Why and Fishbone.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions.
Productivity & Continuous Improvement
- Reduce cycle time and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Implement Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Reduce welding defects and process losses.
- Improve productivity through line balancing.
Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive maintenance.
- Report equipment abnormalities immediately.
- Ensure proper upkeep of welding guns, fixtures and jigs.
Manpower Management
- Lead and motivate shop-floor operators.
- Allocate manpower according to production requirements.
- Conduct skill development and on-the-job training.
- Maintain discipline and ensure adherence to company policies.
Safety
- Ensure compliance with Safety Standards and PPE usage.
- Promote safe welding practices.
- Report unsafe conditions and near-miss incidents.
- Maintain 5S in the weld shop.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in Tier-1 / Tier-2 Sheet Metal Manufacturing.
- Hands-on exposure to Spot Welding, Projection Welding and MIG Welding.
- Strong leadership and team handling skills.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Immediate joiners or candidates with a short notice period will be preferred.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
