Role Overview
The SEO Analyst at WHC is responsible for the day-to-day execution of SEO strategies across client accounts. Working under the guidance of the SEO Manager, the Analyst handles on-page optimisation, keyword research, content coordination, technical audits, performance reporting and tool management — ensuring every account is consistently optimised and growing.
This is a hands-on execution role. The ideal candidate is someone who knows their way around SEO tools, understands what drives rankings, is comfortable interpreting data and can work independently to deliver consistent results for multiple client accounts.
Key Responsibilities
A. On-Page SEO & Keyword Strategy
- Conduct in-depth keyword research for all client accounts — identify target keywords, long-tail opportunities, search intent and content gaps.
- Execute on-page SEO optimisation — meta titles, descriptions, header tags, internal linking, image alt text, URL structures and page speed improvements.
- Build and maintain keyword tracking sheets for every client account — monitor ranking changes week on week.
- Develop content briefs and topic cluster frameworks based on keyword research and competitor gap analysis.
- Implement and maintain internal linking strategies across client websites to strengthen topical authority.
B. Technical SEO
- Conduct monthly technical SEO audits for all assigned client accounts — covering crawlability, indexation, site speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile optimisation and structured data.
- Identify and flag technical issues via Google Search Console, Screaming Frog and Ahrefs — and coordinate with the web team for resolution.
- Implement and maintain structured data (Schema Markup / JSON-LD) across client websites.
- Set up and maintain Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools for all assigned accounts.
- Assist with GA4 configuration and event tracking setup via Google Tag Manager as required.
C. Content & Off-Page SEO
- Coordinate with the Content team to ensure all SEO-optimised content is delivered on time and meets brief requirements.
- Review and approve all content before publication — check for keyword integration, readability, E-E-A-T alignment and internal linking.
- Identify off-page link building opportunities — guest posting, directory listings, brand mentions and digital PR.
- Support e-commerce SEO tasks — product page optimisation, category structure improvements and schema for product listings.
D. Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Prepare weekly and monthly SEO performance reports for all assigned client accounts — covering keyword rankings, organic traffic, CTR, impressions, conversions and key insights.
- Maintain live SEO dashboards using GA4, Google Search Console and Looker Studio — updated weekly.
- Track KPIs per account and flag any significant drops or anomalies to the SEO Manager immediately.
- Attend monthly client meetings alongside the SEO Manager — support the presentation of reports and follow up on client action items.
E. Tools, Research & Learning
- Work proficiently across all key SEO tools — SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, SurferAI, MarketMuse, Moz and Google tools.
- Stay up to date on Google algorithm updates, AI search changes and emerging SEO practices — share relevant updates with the team.
- Identify and document SEO opportunities and competitor strategies for each assigned account on a monthly basis.
- Contribute to the team's weekly knowledge-sharing sessions and actively participate in WHC's SEO skill development initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on SEO experience — preferably in a digital marketing agency environment.
- Proven experience with on-page SEO, technical SEO audits and keyword research.
- Familiarity with AEO, GEO, SXO and AI-driven search is an advantage.
- Google Analytics (GA4) certification or equivalent is a plus.
