Job Title: Civil Estimator

Job Summary
The Civil Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, quantities, labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs. The role supports tendering, budgeting, and project planning to ensure competitive and profitable bids.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project drawings, BOQs, specifications, and tender documents.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for civil and structural works.
- Estimate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare tender cost sheets, bid proposals, and commercial documents.
- Analyze project risks and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, procurement, and project teams.
- Update and maintain estimating databases, cost records, and historical data.
- Assist in preparing project budgets and cost control reports.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.
- Ensure estimates comply with project specifications, company standards, and client requirements.
- Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of all tender and pricing information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- 3–8 years of experience in civil estimation, quantity surveying, or construction costing.
- Experience in commercial, residential, hospitality, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of civil construction methods and materials.
- Expertise in quantity take-off and cost estimation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of estimation software (e.g., CostX, Candy, Planswift, or similar) is an advantage.
- Understanding of BOQ preparation, rate analysis, and tendering procedures.
- Good analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Working Conditions
