JOB TITLE: Business Development Officer
LOCATION: Dehradun, Uttarakhand (On-site with travel requirements)
OPENINGS: 2–3
EXPERIENCE: 3–5 Years
JOB OVERVIEW:
We are looking for result-oriented Business Development professionals to own the complete sales cycle from cold calling and digital lead generation to in-person client meetings, deal closure, and long-term account retention. You will work with a credible product portfolio, an established client base that includes major national brands, and clear revenue targets. This is a high-ownership, field-and-desk role for someone who can hunt across platforms, show up in person when it counts, and build lasting business relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
1. Lead Generation - Online & Offline
- Generate leads through digital platforms including Apollo.io, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, IndiaMART, TradeIndia, and industry-specific databases.
- Identify and approach prospects through cold calling, cold emailing, WhatsApp outreach, and social media engagement.
- Represent Clover Organic at industry conferences, trade fairs, agri-expos, and networking events to build pipeline offline.
- Register and actively manage company profiles on relevant B2B and e-commerce portals.
2. End-to-End Business Development
- Own the full sales cycle - from first contact and product pitch to proposal, negotiation, and closure.
- Understand client requirements and map them to the right products across our agriculture, aquaculture, and wastewater treatment portfolio.
- Travel to meet prospects and clients in person for presentations, relationship building, and deal progression wherever required.
- Follow up consistently and strategically to move prospects through the pipeline and meet monthly/quarterly revenue targets.
3. Client Retention & Account Management
- Manage existing client accounts - including large and enterprise clients - ensuring they remain engaged, satisfied, and active.
- Serve as the single point of contact for queries, order coordination, and issue resolution.
- Re-engage dormant or at-risk accounts and convert them back into active revenue.
- Upsell and cross-sell across the product portfolio to grow account value.
4. Pipeline Management & Reporting
- Maintain an updated pipeline at all times - lead status, deal stage, follow-up schedule, and expected closure date.
- Coordinate with internal teams (technical, operations, logistics) for a smooth client experience.
- Share regular reports on outreach activity, pipeline health, and revenue progress with management.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Graduate in any discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in B2B sales, inside sales, field sales, or business development.
- Prior exposure to agriculture, agri-inputs, biotech, or industrial products will be preferred.
SKILLSETS REQUIRED:
- Hands-on experience with lead generation tools - Apollo.io, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, IndiaMART, TradeIndia, or similar.
- Comfortable opening conversations cold - not just following up on warm leads.
- Strong follow-up discipline and ability to manage a pipeline independently.
- Willing to travel for client meetings, site visits, and industry events as required.
- Confident communication in Hindi and English - verbal and written.
- Familiarity with CRM tools for pipeline tracking is a plus.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
- Self-driven and target-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.
- Professional and presentable - comfortable engaging with senior client contacts in person and virtually.
- Resilient and persistent; understands that most deals require multiple follow-ups.
- Positive attitude, team player, and solution-focused mindset.
- High level of integrity and commitment to client satisfaction.
