Job Summary:
The Clinical Pharmacist should provide expert pharmaceutical care to patients navigating fertility treatments like IVF, IUI, and egg freezing. This role combines technical expertise in reproductive endocrinology with empathetic, face-to-face patient counseling and injection training.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispensing & Compounding: Review prescriptions for legality, accuracy, and therapeutic appropriateness before compounding or dispensing drugs.
- Patient Counseling: Educate patients on how to take their medications, appropriate storage, potential side effects, and over-the-counter alternatives.
- Safety Monitoring: Screen patients for drug allergies, medical conditions, and potential adverse interactions between multiple drugs.
- Inventory & Operations: Maintain accurate records for controlled substances, manage stock levels, and safely dispose of expired medications.
- Protocol Verification: Review and interpret patient-specific fertility medication orders for exact dosage, timing, and appropriateness.
- Timing Coordination: Monitor and manage the highly sensitive scheduling of trigger shots and sequential hormone therapies.
- Interaction Screening: Screen for potential drug-drug interactions, contraindications, and adverse reactions specific to hormonal therapies
- Specialized Dispensing: Accurately dispense high-value specialty medications, including temperature-sensitive biologics.
- Cold Chain Logistics: Maintain rigorous documentation and storage standards for temperature-sensitive fertility drugs.
- System Upkeep: Manage prescription filing, injection records, and daily billing using automated pharmacy software systems
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm), or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D).
- Experience: 1–3 years of clinical pharmacy experience; background in OB/GYN, women’s health, or a dedicated fertility center is highly preferred.
- Specialized Knowledge: Deep understanding of the pharmacotherapy of ovulation induction, GnRH analogs, and gonadotropins.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional emotional intelligence and empathetic communication to support patients handling high-stress fertility treatments.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
