About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Career Counsellor to guide students and youth in making informed education and career decisions. The Career Counsellor will provide career guidance, assess individual interests and skills, conduct counselling sessions, and support students in choosing suitable career pathways, higher education opportunities, skill development programs, and employment options.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one and group career counselling sessions for students and job seekers.
- Assess students' interests, strengths, aptitude, and career aspirations.
- Guide candidates on higher education, vocational training, skill development programs, and employment opportunities.
- Organize career awareness sessions, workshops, seminars, and orientation programs.
- Assist students in setting career goals and preparing personalized career plans.
- Build relationships with schools, colleges, community organizations, and local stakeholders.
- Coordinate with trainers, placement teams, and employers to support students' career progression.
- Maintain counselling records, student databases, and progress reports.
- Follow up with students regarding admissions, training completion, and placements.
- Support mobilization activities whenever required to achieve project objectives.
- Prepare and submit timely MIS reports and other documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or any relevant discipline.
- Master's degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or related fields will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in career counselling, student counselling, admissions, education, training, recruitment, or skill development.
- Freshers with excellent communication and counselling skills are encouraged to apply.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Telugu and English.
- Strong counselling, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and guide students from diverse backgrounds.
- Good presentation and public speaking skills.
- Basic knowledge of career options, higher education, government schemes, and job market trends.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Willingness to travel within Mulugu District for school visits, counselling sessions, and outreach activities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with NGOs, educational institutions, CSR initiatives, or government-funded skill development projects.
- Familiarity with youth engagement, community outreach, and stakeholder coordination.
