Construction PMC – Roles & Responsibilities
A Project Management Consultant (PMC) acts as the client’s professional representative, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, to the required quality and safety standards.
1. Project Planning & Strategy
- Define project objectives, scope and execution strategy
- Prepare master project schedule and milestones
- Develop project execution plan
- Identify project risks and mitigation measures
- Establish project reporting and communication systems
2. Design Management
- Coordinate Architectural, Structural & MEP design
- Review drawings, specifications and design deliverables
- Identify design conflicts and constructability issues
- Coordinate design changes and approvals
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
3. Tender & Procurement Management
- Prepare/coordinate tender documents and BOQ
- Assist in contractor/vendor prequalification
- Manage tender clarification and evaluation
- Support commercial and technical recommendations
- Monitor procurement of critical materials and equipment
4. Construction Management
- Supervise overall construction progress
- Coordinate contractors, consultants and vendors
- Monitor work against approved drawings and specifications
- Resolve site coordination issues
- Ensure proper construction sequence and methodology
5. Cost Management
- Monitor project budget and expenditure
- Review contractor bills and payment recommendations
- Control variations and change orders
- Track committed vs. actual costs
- Identify potential cost overruns
6. Quality Management
- Implement Project Quality Plan
- Establish inspection and approval procedures
- Monitor material and workmanship quality
- Review ITPs, MIRs, WIRs and test reports
- Ensure NCRs and defects are properly closed
7. Time & Schedule Control
- Monitor baseline vs. actual progress
- Track critical path activities
- Analyse delays and slippages
- Implement recovery schedules
- Coordinate short-term and look-ahead planning
8. Safety Management
- Monitor HSE compliance
- Conduct site safety inspections
- Review method statements and risk assessments
- Monitor permits and safety procedures
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented
9. Contract & Commercial Management
- Monitor contractual obligations
- Manage claims, variations and extensions of time
- Maintain contract correspondence
- Review contractor performance
- Support dispute avoidance and resolution
10. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain project records and registers
- Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports
- Maintain RFI, drawing, submittal and approval trackers
- Record meeting minutes and action points
- Maintain complete project documentation
11. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Coordinate testing and commissioning
- Monitor snagging and punch-list closure
- Verify as-built drawings and O&M manuals
- Coordinate statutory approvals
- Support final handover and project closeout
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
