An Accessories Fitter (also known as a Vehicle Accessory Installer) is a skilled technician responsible for fitting aftermarket parts, optional extras, and custom upgrades to vehicles.
Job Overview
- Department: Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), Dealership Service, or Fleet Customisation
- Core Goal: Personalise vehicles by installing optional upgrades.
- Safety Level: Medium (Involves electrical wiring and structural drilling).
Key Responsibilities
- Install exterior upgrades: Fit towbars, bull bars, roof racks, spoilers, and side steps.
- Integrate electronic systems: Wire up dashcams, reverse cameras, parking sensors, and GPS trackers.
- Enhance interior utility: Mount custom seat covers, floor mats, and cargo liners.
- Apply protective elements: Install paint protection films, window tints, and underbody rust-proofing.
- Follow technical manuals: Read and interpret manufacturer installation guides and wiring diagrams.
- Test functionality: Ensure all installed electronic components function perfectly without triggering error lights.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness: Protect the vehicle interior and exterior from scratches or grease during installation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Automotive electrical knowledge: Basic understanding of 12V vehicle electrical systems and splicing.
- Mechanical aptitude: Proficiency with hand tools, power drills, and torque wrenches.
- Attention to detail: Ability to align body parts perfectly and route wiring neatly.
- Time management: Capability to work efficiently to meet dealership delivery deadlines.
- Experience: Valid driver’s license, plus a vocational qualification in automotive mechanics or equivalent hands-on experience.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
