About Aneesh & Nandan
Aneesh & Nandan, Chartered Accountants is a growing practice offering Audit, Tax, and Advisory services to clients across diverse industries. We are hiring a Finance Manager to own and lead our internal finance function and to grow, over time, into a Chief Financial Officer role.
Role Summary
We are looking for a Finance Manager who will own the finance function end-to-end and lead a small finance team to close all finance matters accurately and on time. This is an ownership role — the focus is on directing, reviewing, and leading the finance team, rather than personally executing every task. The right person will be groomed as a future CFO, taking on progressively wider responsibility for the firm's financial leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the finance function — lead the team to finalise books of accounts and produce financial statements as per applicable accounting standards, taking accountability for accuracy and timelines.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting — review banking, ledger, debtor, and creditor reconciliations handled by the team rather than executing them directly.
- Own GST compliance — ensure accurate and timely filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, 3B, 9/9C) and reconciliation of GSTR-2B/2A.
- Own TDS/TCS and statutory dues — ensure timely computation, filing of returns, and deposit of all statutory dues.
- Direct tax — oversee income tax computations and coordinate return filing and assessments.
- Own the audit relationship — coordinate statutory, internal, and tax auditors and drive closure of audit queries within timelines.
- Own MIS and planning — deliver MIS reports, budgets, and variance analysis, and present them to leadership for decision-making.
- Oversee ROC/secretarial compliance — in coordination with the company secretary/consultant.
- Own cash and working capital — manage cash flow monitoring, working capital, and vendor/customer payment cycles.
- Lead external liaison — represent the finance function with banks, government departments, and external consultants.
- Build and lead the team — mentor, review, and develop the finance team to consistently close all finance matters.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI) with active membership
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in accounting, audit, or taxation
- Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and direct tax compliance
- Proficiency in Tally/ERP systems and MS Excel; exposure to any ERP (SAP/Zoho/QuickBooks) is a plus
- Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and ownership of deliverables (required)
- Leadership aptitude — able to direct and review the work of a team rather than only executing
- Good communication skills and the ability to work directly with the firm's leadership
Your Path to CFO
This role is designed as a stepping stone to the CFO position. The Finance Manager will start by owning the firm's finance function and, as they demonstrate command of compliance, reporting, and financial planning, will progressively take on strategic responsibilities — budgeting, forecasting, controls, and advising leadership — building directly toward a Chief Financial Officer role.
What the Role Offers
- A clear, structured growth path from Finance Manager to CFO
- End-to-end ownership of the finance function of a growing firm
- Close working relationship with the firm's partners and leadership
- Compensation commensurate with experience, as per industry standards
