Job Purpose
To plan, coordinate, monitor, and control all production activities in the Grating Department, ensuring timely execution of customer orders, efficient utilization of manpower and machinery, material availability, and adherence to quality and delivery commitments.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders and project requirements.
- Schedule manufacturing activities for FRP/GRP Gratings, Pultruded Gratings, Moulded Gratings, Stair Treads, and related products.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with production supervisors to execute planned schedules effectively.
Production Control
- Monitor daily production output against planned quantities.
- Track work-in-progress (WIP) and ensure smooth production flow.
- Identify production bottlenecks and coordinate corrective actions.
- Follow up on urgent orders and expedite production activities as required.
Material Planning & Inventory Control
- Ensure availability of raw materials, resin, fiberglass, pigments, catalysts, and consumables required for grating production.
- Coordinate with Stores and Purchase departments for timely procurement of materials.
- Monitor material consumption and report shortages or excess usage.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels to avoid production interruptions.
Coordination & Scheduling
- Coordinate with Sales, Projects, Quality, Stores, Dispatch, and Maintenance departments.
- Update production priorities based on customer requirements and management instructions.
- Ensure smooth communication between planning and production teams.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare Daily Production Reports (DPR).
- Maintain production planning records and dispatch schedules.
- Generate MIS reports related to production, inventory, and order status.
- Track production efficiency, rejection rates, and delivery performance.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure production activities comply with quality standards and customer specifications.
- Coordinate with Quality Department for inspections and approvals.
- Support implementation of ISO standards, 5S, and safety procedures.
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze production data and suggest productivity improvements.
- Support cost reduction and process optimization initiatives.
- Participate in Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing activities.
