Job Summary
Suburban Residency is looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior Accounts Executive to support the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of the property.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience and must be able to demonstrate practical experience in independently handling accounting activities, including daily revenue reconciliation, bank and cash reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, taxation support, vendor reconciliation and preparation of financial reports.
Previous experience in the hotel, hospitality, restaurant or F&B industry is strongly preferred.
The position requires flexibility in working hours. The successful candidate should be willing to work beyond normal duty hours when operationally required, particularly during month-end closing, year-end closing, audits, statutory deadlines and other critical accounting periods.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Accounts Executive will be responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate day-to-day accounting records.
- Recording and reviewing sales, receipts, payments, purchases and journal entries.
- Performing daily revenue reconciliation across applicable hotel revenue streams.
- Reconciling POS/PMS sales with cash, card, UPI, bank and other payment collections.
- Conducting daily cash and bank reconciliation and identifying discrepancies.
- Reviewing cashier settlements, discounts, voids, cancellations and other adjustments.
- Managing Accounts Payable, including verification of supplier invoices, supporting documents and payment schedules.
- Managing Accounts Receivable, including outstanding balances, credit customers and collection follow-up.
- Performing vendor ledger reconciliation and resolving differences.
- Verifying purchase invoices against approved purchase orders, goods received records and supporting documentation where applicable.
- Monitoring advances, deposits, outstanding receivables and other balance-sheet accounts.
- Assisting with inventory and stock reconciliation in coordination with Stores, Purchase, Kitchen and F&B teams.
- Preparing and maintaining supporting schedules for monthly accounts.
- Assisting with preparation of Profit & Loss statements, balance-sheet schedules and management reports.
- Playing an active role in month-end and year-end closing, ensuring reconciliations, schedules and required accounting entries are completed accurately and within deadlines.
- Preparing information required for GST, TDS and other applicable statutory filings.
- Coordinating with auditors, tax consultants, banks and other external parties when required.
- Maintaining proper accounting documentation and filing for audit and statutory compliance.
- Supporting management with financial analysis, cost monitoring and variance reporting.
- Identifying unusual transactions, revenue discrepancies or control weaknesses and escalating them to management.
- Assisting with implementation and monitoring of internal financial controls.
- Supporting the Accounts Manager and management with other accounting and financial responsibilities as required.
Month-End & Work Schedule Requirements
Due to the operational nature of the hospitality business, the Senior Accounts Executive is expected to:
- Be available and present during month-end closing activities.
- Ensure assigned reconciliations, schedules and closing entries are completed before the monthly accounts are finalized.
- Coordinate with operational departments to resolve outstanding revenue, payment, inventory or accounting discrepancies before closing.
- Work additional hours when reasonably required to meet month-end, year-end, audit, statutory or management reporting deadlines.
- Demonstrate flexibility during periods of high accounting workload or critical business requirements.
- Take ownership of assigned closing activities rather than carrying unresolved items into the following accounting period without appropriate approval.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Candidates must have:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- B.Com, M.Com or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
- Strong practical knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Experience handling bank reconciliation, cash reconciliation, vendor reconciliation and ledger scrutiny.
- Practical experience participating in monthly accounting closure.
- Working knowledge of GST and TDS.
- Experience with accounting software such as Tally / Tally Prime or equivalent accounting systems.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to prepare and understand basic financial and management reports.
- Willingness to work additional hours when reasonably required for closing, audit or critical accounting activities.
Demonstrable Experience Required
Candidates should be prepared during the interview to explain and demonstrate their experience in areas such as:
- Bank reconciliation

Candidates may be asked during the interview to provide practical examples of their specific responsibilities during a previous month-end closing process, including reconciliations, journal entries, schedules prepared and issues identified or resolved.
Candidates whose experience has been primarily limited to data entry or basic voucher posting may not be suitable for this position.
Hospitality Experience — Preferred
Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in:

Hospitality candidates should ideally have experience reconciling revenue from areas such as:

- Restaurants / F&B

Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, dependable and detail-oriented.
The Senior Accounts Executive should not simply record transactions but should be capable of reviewing accounts, identifying discrepancies, performing reconciliations and ensuring that the financial information provided to management is complete and accurate.
The candidate should understand that accounting in a hotel is an operational function with strict reporting deadlines. Month-end closing is a critical responsibility of the position, and the candidate must be available to support the Accounts team until assigned closing activities are completed.
