Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer with strong expertise in mechanical design and engineering of pharmaceutical process equipment. The candidate should have hands-on experience in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, equipment design, fabrication drawings, piping layouts and BOM preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and detail engineering of Pressure Vessels, Columns, Heat Exchangers and Storage Tanks.
- Prepare assembly, sub-assembly, component and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Prepare plant layouts, piping layouts and pipeline drawings using SolidWorks.
- Develop detailed equipment models, drawings and specifications as per project requirements.
- Prepare and verify Bill of Materials (BOM) using SolidWorks.
- Prepare mechanical datasheets and equipment drawings as per applicable standards.
- Work on equipment designed as per ASME, API, TEMA and PED requirements.
- Review and check fabrication drawings, BOMs and design specifications.
- Analyse specifications, sketches, drawings and project requirements to develop suitable mechanical designs.
- Coordinate with Production, Fabrication, Projects, Process, QA/QC and other departments for design-related requirements.
- Coordinate with clients and internal teams for engineering and design clarifications.
- Ensure designs are cost-effective, practical and suitable for fabrication and production.
- Modify and revise designs based on project requirements, fabrication feasibility and operational improvements.
- Review existing designs and identify opportunities to reduce production issues and improve design efficiency.
Required Skills
- Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design, drafting and fabrication.
- Experience in pharmaceutical machinery / process equipment manufacturing.
- Good understanding of Pressure Vessel and equipment design.
- Knowledge of piping and plant layout drawings.
- Experience in BOM preparation and drawing checking.
- Knowledge of ASME / API / TEMA / PED standards.
- Good understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
