IB Mathematics Teacher (MYP & DP)
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced IB Mathematics Teacher to deliver high-quality instruction in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). The ideal candidate will inspire students through inquiry-based, concept-driven learning while fostering critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative learning environment, promote international-mindedness, and support students' academic and personal growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons for IB MYP and DP students.
- Implement inquiry-based, student-centered teaching strategies aligned with IB philosophy.
- Foster conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, and real-world application of mathematics.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance learning outcomes.
Curriculum Planning
- Develop and implement unit plans aligned with IB MYP and DP curriculum requirements.
- Incorporate Key Concepts, Global Contexts, ATL Skills, and interdisciplinary learning where appropriate.
- Ensure curriculum delivery meets IB standards and promotes student engagement.
Assessment & Reporting
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments using IB assessment criteria.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate academic records.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and communicate progress effectively with parents.
Student Development
- Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Encourage students to become confident, reflective, and independent learners.
- Support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
Collaboration & Professional Development
- Work collaboratively with the IB Coordinator and teaching teams.
- Participate in curriculum planning meetings, professional development, and IB workshops.
- Contribute to school events, extracurricular activities, and the wider school community.
Qualifications
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- B.Ed. or an equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in an international curriculum, preferably IB.
- Experience teaching IB MYP Mathematics is essential.
- Experience teaching IB Diploma Programme Mathematics (AA and/or AI, SL/HL) is highly desirable.
