The Junior Site Engineer supports the site execution team in the day-to-day supervision of construction/installation activities at the project site. FRESHERS & EXPERIENCED CAN APPLY
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Execution (Assisting)
- Assist the Site Engineer in monitoring day-to-day construction/installation activities against approved drawings and the project schedule.
- Help verify that work at site is carried out as per Good for Construction (GFC) drawings and method statements under supervision.
- Observe and support tracking of progress across civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical works (as applicable), flagging observations to the reporting senior.
- Support day-to-day coordination with labour crews and subcontractors on assigned work fronts.
Quality & Compliance (Learning & Support)
- Support QA/QC checks and inspections at site under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Assist in recording material and workmanship checks, test results, and inspection findings.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Follow all site safety protocols, permit-to-work systems, and PPE requirements at all times.
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings; report unsafe conditions or near-misses promptly.
- Support the site team in promoting a safe, zero-harm working environment.
Documentation & Reporting (Hands-on Training)
- Maintain and update basic site records such as daily progress reports (DPR), material receipts, and labour attendance.
- Assist in maintaining equipment logs, drawing registers, and site correspondence files.
- Support preparation of daily/weekly progress updates for review by the Site Engineer/Project Manager.
- Learn to coordinate with the planning and procurement teams regarding material and resource availability.
Coordination & Learning
- Accompany senior engineers during client/consultant site visits and inspections to build coordination skills.
- Assist with basic site measurements and support the billing/measurement process under supervision.
- Actively seek guidance from senior site staff to build technical and site-management capability.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of construction/EPC methods and materials, gained through academic projects, internships or training.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications (training will be provided).
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word); exposure to AutoCAD is an added advantage.
- Willingness to learn site safety, quality, and statutory compliance practices.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
- Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and work under the guidance of senior site engineers.
- Willingness to travel and be based at project sites.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- 0–3 years of experience; freshers and candidates with internship/academic project exposure to construction sites are welcome to apply.
- Any prior internship, apprenticeship, or vocational training in a construction/EPC environment will be an added advantage.
