Job Summary
The Purchase Manager will lead and oversee the procurement function, ensuring efficient sourcing of finished pharmaceutical products and uninterrupted supply chain operations. This role demands a detail-oriented and analytical professional with strong expertise in MARG ERP and Advanced Excel. The ideal candidate will possess excellent vendor management, negotiation, and follow-up skills to ensure timely procurement, cost optimization, and seamless logistics coordination.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement & Inventory Management
- Manage end-to-end procurement of finished pharmaceutical products in a cost-effective and timely manner.
- Create, review, and process purchase orders (POs) accurately using MARG ERP.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock availability through data-driven planning
- Prevent stockouts and overstocking through effective demand forecasting and coordination
2. Vendor & Supply Chain Management
- Develop, evaluate, and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Identify and onboard new vendors to ensure quality, reliability, and competitive pricing
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms to achieve cost efficiency
- Ensure strict follow-up with vendors for order confirmation, dispatch, and delivery timelines
3. Logistics & Transportation
- Plan and coordinate transportation and logistics for timely and safe delivery of goods
- Monitor dispatch schedules and resolve transportation or delivery-related challenges
- Ensure smooth coordination between vendors, transporters, and internal teams
4. Data Management & Reporting
- Utilize Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, MIS reporting) for procurement analysis and reporting
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and vendor data
- Generate insights for cost optimization, vendor performance, and inventory planning
5. Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead, mentor, and manage the purchase team to ensure operational efficiency
- Coordinate with internal departments such as warehouse, accounts, and management
- Implement strong follow-up mechanisms to resolve procurement and billing issues
6. Compliance & Process Improvement
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procurement procedures, and quality standards
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and internal reviews
- Continuously improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency and cost control
Required Qualifications & Skills
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor of Degree (preferred)
- Candidates with relevant experience in Supply Chain Management may also be considered
Experience
- 3–4 years of experience in procurement or purchase management
- Experience in Pharma, PCD or Trading industry preferred
- Software Skills: Proficiency in MARG ERP and Advanced Excel is mandatory.
