Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our development team. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our enterprise applications built on Java, Spring Boot, and Angular. You will work closely with developers, technical leads, and stakeholders to validate functionality, identify bugs, and implement automated testing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manual & Regression Testing
- Analyze business requirements, technical specifications, and user stories to create comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Execute manual test cases to identify defects in new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
- Perform thorough regression testing after every build, patch, or new deployment to ensure existing functionalities remain intact.
- Conduct API testing (REST) to validate backend logic, data integrity, and error handling.
- Perform UI testing to ensure applications are responsive, user-friendly, and aligned with design specifications (HTML5, CSS3, Angular).
2. Automation Testing
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks (Data-Driven, Keyword-Driven, or Hybrid) to reduce manual effort.
- Write automated test scripts for front-end applications (Angular/React) and backend services (Java, Spring Boot, Microservices).
- Automate REST API validation using tools like Rest Assured, Postman, or Karate.
- Integrate automated test suites into the CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins/GitHub Actions) to enable continuous testing.
- Maintain and execute automated regression suites to ensure quick feedback on code changes.
3. Database & Backend Validation
- Validate database transactions and query results across Oracle, MS SQL, and MySQL environments.
- Perform performance tuning checks on SQL queries to assist developers in optimization.
- Ensure proper data mapping and integrity as per the Data Models and ER Diagrams.
4. Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate with developers to reproduce, isolate, and resolve bugs effectively.
- Work alongside the Technical Lead to ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
- Track and document defects using tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.
- Provide clear and concise test reports to stakeholders detailing coverage, defects, and quality metrics.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Testing Expertise: Strong knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Manual Testing: Experience in functional, regression, system, and user acceptance testing.
- Automation: Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, TestNG/JUnit, and Rest Assured.
- Programming: Basic to intermediate coding skills in Java (Core Java) or Kotlin for test script development.
- APIs: Experience in validating REST APIs, handling JSON/XML payloads, and understanding of HTTP protocols.
- Database: Proficiency in writing SQL queries to validate data in Oracle/MS SQL/MySQL.
- Version Control: Experience with Git or similar code versioning tools.
- CI/CD: Exposure to Jenkins, Docker, or Kubernetes for test execution in different environments.
Domain Knowledge
- Understanding of web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with Microservices architecture, session management, and exception handling.
Preferred Skills
- Experience testing applications using Push Notifications, Location Services, or Maps APIs.
- Knowledge of UI/UX testing principles to ensure rich, responsive design.
- Experience with Power BI or other visualization tools (plus point).

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate defects and test results.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Minimum Qualification
- B.E / B.Tech / MCA / M.Sc (Computer Science/IT) or any relevant Post Graduation.
- Certification in Software Testing (ISTQB, CSTE) is a plus.
