Qualifications & Certifications:
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Power Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) certification from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Government of India.
- Lead Verifier Certification for ISO 14064-1, ISO 14064-2, and ISO 14064-3.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Power Engineering Auditor to support energy auditing, greenhouse gas (GHG) verification, carbon accounting, and compliance assessment activities under applicable energy and environmental regulations. The candidate will assist in conducting verification and auditing assignments related to the Carbon Credit Trading Scheme (CCTS), energy management systems, and GHG emissions reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct energy and GHG verification assignments in accordance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
- Apply verification principles including evidence gathering, risk assessment, materiality assessment, and assurance methodologies.
- Review energy consumption data, GHG inventories, emission factors, and calculation methodologies.
- Assess compliance with the Energy Conservation (Amendment) Act, 2022, Environment Protection Act, 1986, and Carbon Credit Trading Scheme (CCTS), 2023.
- Participate in site visits, audits, inspections, and stakeholder interviews.
- Collect, review, validate, and analyse operational and environmental data.
- Evaluate the adequacy and reliability of monitoring, reporting, and data management systems.
- Assist in preparing audit reports, verification reports, findings, and recommendations.
- Perform sampling, testing, and verification of energy and emissions-related information.
- Support risk assessment activities and identify potential areas of non-conformity.
- Assess conformity with procedures and requirements defined under the CCTS framework.
- Maintain documentation and records related to verification and audit engagements.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Understanding of energy management, energy auditing, and GHG accounting principles.
- Knowledge of GHG emission sources, emission factors, and carbon accounting methodologies.
- Familiarity with monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) frameworks.
- Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
- Ability to conduct interviews, document reviews, and evidence-based assessments.
- Knowledge of data auditing, sampling techniques, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and data analysis tools.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Knowledge
- Carbon markets and carbon credit mechanisms.
- ISO 14064 standards and verification frameworks.
- Energy efficiency technologies and industrial energy management practices.
- Regulatory requirements related to energy conservation and environmental compliance.
