Oracle EBS R12 Order Management Techno-Functional Consultant
Application Management / ERP Order Management
Experience Level: 6+ years total IT experience, including 6+ years hands-on in Oracle EBS R12 Order Management techno-functional roles, with demonstrated experience as a technical/functional escalation point:
We are looking for an Oracle EBS R12 Order Management Techno-Functional Consultant to own both sides of our order-to-cash ERP landscape: translating business requirements into sound functional design across Order Management and building or troubleshooting the technical components — PL/SQL, interfaces, reports, and personalization — that make that design work in production. This is a senior role: day-to-day ticket resolution sits with the support team, and you act as their escalation point and mentor for hard-to-resolve issues, stepping in personally only in exceptional cases.
-
Serve as subject matter expert across Oracle EBS R12 Order Management and the broader order-to-cash cycle: order entry, pricing, scheduling, shipping, and invoicing interfaces to Receivables.
-
Gather and document business requirements; perform gap analysis between standard Oracle functionality and business needs; propose and design solutions.
-
Configure and customize Order Management setups: order types, pricing rules, workflow assignments, and shipping/scheduling rules.
-
Lead or support full-cycle implementations and rollouts of Order Management functionality.
-
Partner with Inventory, Shipping/Warehouse, Pricing, and Finance (Receivables) teams to ensure end-to-end order-to-cash process integrity.
-
Develop and maintain PL/SQL packages, procedures, and functions supporting Order Management interfaces, conversions, and custom reports.
-
Build and troubleshoot inbound/outbound interfaces (Order Import, Open Interfaces, APIs) between Oracle EBS and third-party or upstream systems (e.g., EDI, webstore, warehouse management).
-
Design and maintain custom reports using XML/BI Publisher or Oracle Reports; build and modify Forms Personalization and OAF extensions where needed.
-
Configure and extend Oracle Workflow Builder for order processing, hold/release logic, and approval routing.
-
Write SQL scripts of low-to-high complexity for data extraction, reconciliation, and analysis.
-
Develop source-to-target data mapping and execute data migration/conversion into or out of Order Management.
-
Act as the escalation point for the support team on hard-to-resolve Order Management issues: guide root-cause analysis, review proposed fixes, and unblock the team when standard troubleshooting stalls.
-
Step in personally to resolve issues directly in exceptional cases — critical/complex defects the support team cannot close on its own.
-
Provide technical and functional guidance to end users on third-party interface issues and data integrity questions raised by the support team.
-
Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, customizations, and troubleshooting procedures; contribute to a shared knowledge base.
-
Develop and deliver end-user training materials and sessions on Order Management and any custom functionality.
-
Proactively identify opportunities to improve application performance, process efficiency, and user experience; help scope and deliver enhancements.
-
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior consultants.
-
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Supply Chain, or a related field.
-
6+ years of overall Oracle EBS experience, with 10+ years focused on R12 Order Management in a techno-functional capacity.
-
Prior experience acting as a technical/functional escalation lead or mentor for a support team — not just as an individual contributor resolving own tickets.
-
Strong functional grounding in order-to-cash processes, and hands-on configuration experience in Order Management, pricing, and shipping/scheduling.
-
Demonstrated technical skills: PL/SQL development, SQL scripting, and at least one of Forms Personalization, OAF, XML/BI Publisher, or Workflow Builder.
-
Experience building or supporting EBS interfaces, conversions, or custom extensions in a production environment.
-
Solid understanding of Oracle EBS functional and technical architecture.
-
Working knowledge of adjacent EBS modules such as Inventory, Pricing, and Receivables, and how they integrate with Order Management.
-
Strong business requirements analysis, gap identification, and solution design skills.
-
Excellent written and spoken English; strong cross-functional communication skills for working with both business users and technical teams.
-
Oracle Order Management certification (R12 or 11i).
-
Exposure to Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM/Order Management, or active participation in an EBS-to-Fusion migration.
-
Experience with SDLC/Agile delivery methods and standard project/ticket tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
-
Prior experience in a shared-services or multinational corporate IT environment.
