Linux Server SME
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Linux Server Subject Matter Expert (SME) with 6–10 years of expertise in enterprise Linux administration, AWS cloud infrastructure, and vulnerability remediation. The role involves managing and securing Linux server environments across on-premises and AWS platforms, performing patch management, system hardening, automation, and production support while ensuring high availability, security, and compliance. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with RHEL 7/8/9/10, Qualys, Ansible, Chef, Bash scripting, AWS services, and enterprise change management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Amazon Linux) across on-premises and AWS environments.
- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and harden Linux operating systems following security and compliance standards.
- Provision and manage AWS infrastructure, including EC2, VPC, IAM, EBS, EFS, S3, Route 53, Auto Scaling, and Load Balancers.
- Perform vulnerability assessment, remediation, and patch management using Qualys or equivalent vulnerability management tools.
- Implement Linux security hardening based on CIS Benchmarks, STIG guidelines, and enterprise security policies.
- Develop and maintain automation using Ansible, Chef, Bash Shell scripting, AWS CLI, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Monitor Linux infrastructure using CloudWatch, Splunk, Datadog, or similar monitoring tools, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Troubleshoot Linux operating system, networking, storage, kernel, and application issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive solutions.
- Manage Linux users, groups, file systems, storage, LVM, RAID, SSH, NFS, and access controls.
- Validate remediation activities through vulnerability rescans and maintain documentation for audit and compliance requirements.
- Execute infrastructure changes, maintenance activities, and production deployments following ITIL-based change management processes.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, application, and operations teams to support production environments and resolve critical incidents.
- Track vendor security advisories, coordinate patch deployments, and ensure timely vulnerability remediation.
- Participate in on-call support, incident management, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.
Pay: ₹2,500,000.00 - ₹3,000,000.00 per year
