Job Summary
We are a leading pump manufacturing company seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchase Assistant to support our procurement team. The ideal candidate should have a knowledge of engineering materials, mechanical components, vendor coordination, and procurement processes. The role involves ensuring the timely procurement of raw materials, bought-out components, and consumables required for pump manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved purchase requisitions.
- Source and procure raw materials, mechanical components, castings, forgings, machined parts, fasteners, bearings, motors, seals, and other materials used in pump manufacturing.
- Obtain quotations from suppliers, compare prices, quality, and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with vendors for order confirmation, delivery schedules, and material dispatch.
- Coordinate with the Production, Planning, Stores, Quality, and Accounts departments for procurement-related activities.
- Verify purchase orders, invoices, and delivery documents for accuracy.
- Maintain supplier records, purchase documentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and support material planning to avoid stock shortages.
· Assist in vendor evaluation and performance monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 0–1 years of experience in Purchase, Procurement, or Supply Chain in a manufacturing industry.
- Fresh Mechanical Engineering graduates with strong technical knowledge may also apply.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in the pump, valve, motor, engineering, or heavy machinery manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with ISO quality systems and procurement documentation.
- Knowledge of GST, invoice verification, and inventory management.
