Electrical Engineer – Estimation (Overhead Transmission Line Projects)

About the Role
Al Bany International is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer – Estimation to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in the estimation and tendering of Electrical Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) Projects and be capable of preparing accurate technical and commercial proposals for domestic and international projects.
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering – Mandatory
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Electrical Estimation
- Mandatory experience in estimating Electrical Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) Projects
- Strong understanding of transmission line construction methodologies, materials, and project execution requirements
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, BOQs, and tender documents
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, specifications, drawings, and client requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for Electrical Overhead Transmission Line projects.
- Perform quantity take-offs and material calculations.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Develop technical and commercial proposals in accordance with client requirements.
- Analyze project risks, assumptions, and costing factors.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams during bid preparation.
- Prepare bid summaries, pricing schedules, and tender submissions.
- Support management during bid clarifications, negotiations, and contract award processes.
- Maintain historical cost databases and estimation records.
- Conduct site visits when required to assess project conditions and estimate project costs accurately.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- Overhead Transmission Lines (HV/EHV)
- Towers, Conductors, Insulators, Hardware & Accessories
- Foundations and Civil Works associated with OHTL Projects
- Electrical Codes, Standards, and Utility Specifications
- Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Excel (Advanced Level)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Estimation and Costing Tools
- Primavera P6 (Preferred)
- AutoCAD and technical drawing interpretation
