About the Role
National Institute of Education and Development (NIED) is seeking an experienced Automobile Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul Trainer to deliver practical and industry-oriented training in vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, repair, servicing, and overhaul operations. The trainer will be responsible for preparing candidates for employment in the automotive service and manufacturing sector through hands-on learning and technical skill development.
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in automobile systems, workshop operations, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repair procedures, along with the ability to effectively train and mentor students.
Key ResponsibilitiesTraining Delivery
- Conduct classroom and workshop-based training sessions.
- Deliver practical demonstrations on vehicle inspection, servicing, repair, and overhaul procedures.
- Train candidates on automotive systems and maintenance techniques.
- Develop lesson plans, practical assignments, and training materials.
- Conduct project-based and hands-on learning activities.
- Ensure workshop safety standards and best practices are followed.

Assessment & Documentation
- Conduct practical and theoretical assessments.
- Monitor trainee attendance, performance, and progress.
- Maintain workshop records, assessment reports, and training documentation.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly training reports.
- Ensure compliance with project and quality requirements.
Industry & Placement Support
- Support placement-linked training initiatives.
- Prepare candidates for employment in automobile service centers, dealerships, and manufacturing units.
- Organize industry visits, guest lectures, and technical workshops.
- Guide trainees on interview preparation and workplace readiness.
Required Qualifications
- B.Tech/B.E. in Automobile Engineering (Mandatory)
- Additional certifications in Automobile Diagnostics, Vehicle Maintenance, Automotive Electronics, or related fields will be preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of industry and/or training experience in:
- Automobile Maintenance and Servicing
- Vehicle Diagnostics
- Automobile Repair Workshops
- Automotive Manufacturing
- Dealership Service Operations
- Technical Training Institutes
- Experience in Skill Development, NSDC, PMKVY, CSR, Government, or Employment-linked Training Programs will be preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of automobile systems and components.
- Expertise in engine maintenance and overhaul procedures.
- Hands-on experience in vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of transmission, suspension, steering, and braking systems.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical and electronic systems.
- Familiarity with workshop equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Understanding of vehicle safety and quality standards.
