We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tool Room Engineer to join our team in Chamrajnagar. The Tool Room Engineer will be responsible for the design, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of various tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges used in our manufacturing processes. This role requires a strong understanding of precision machining, material science, and quality control to ensure optimal performance and longevity of all tooling.
- Design, develop, and modify tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges based on product specifications and engineering drawings, utilizing CAD/CAM software.
- Operate and program various machine tools including CNC milling machines, lathes, grinders, and EDM machines to fabricate precision components for tooling.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of existing tooling to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
- Conduct thorough inspections of finished tools and components using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and CMMs to ensure adherence to strict quality standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Collaborate with production, design, and quality assurance teams to identify tooling requirements, resolve technical issues, and implement improvements.
- Select appropriate materials for tooling based on application, wear resistance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records of tool designs, modifications, maintenance activities, and inventory.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices within the tool room environment.
- Train and mentor junior toolmakers or technicians on tool room operations and safety procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for tooling processes and overall manufacturing efficiency.
