Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and certified Medical Coding Trainer to join our new branch in Kollam. The ideal candidate will be responsible for training students in medical coding principles, anatomy, physiology, and classification systems, developing course materials, and preparing students for professional certification exams. Candidates with Gulf experience will be given high preference.
Key ResponsibilitiesTraining Delivery
- Deliver classroom and practical training in medical coding topics including:
- Medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
- ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding guidelines
- CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) coding
- HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System)
- Evaluation and Management (E&M) coding
- Modifiers, bundling, and NCCI edits
- Medical record review and documentation requirements
- Prepare students for professional certification exams such as CPC (Certified Professional Coder), COC, CIC, and CCS
- Use engaging teaching methods including real-world medical charts, case studies, and coding software simulations
Curriculum Development
- Develop and update training modules, presentations, workbooks, and assessment tools
- Align curriculum with latest ICD-11, CPT, and HCPCS updates
- Create lesson plans for beginner, intermediate, and advanced level learners
Student Assessment and Support
- Conduct written exams, practical coding assessments, and mock certification tests
- Provide individual feedback and guidance to students
- Maintain student attendance, progress reports, and certification records
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure all training meets REWAQ International Institute quality standards
- Stay updated on latest coding guidelines, payer policies, and industry changes
- Assist in internal and external audit preparations

- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II, and coding guidelines
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and disease processes
- Familiarity with payer policies, medical necessity, and compliance regulations (HIPAA, OIG)
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and coding software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (Malayalam proficiency is a plus)
- Ability to simplify complex medical concepts for beginners
- Confident public speaking and classroom management skills
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, online teaching platforms)
- Attention to detail and analytical thinking
