Worksbot Private Limited is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer with 0 to 3 years of experience to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will play a key part in the conceptualization, design, development, and testing of mechanical components and assemblies. Key Responsibilities
- 3D Modeling & Drafting: Create precise 3D CAD models, detailed 2D manufacturing drawings, and assemblies using industry-standard software.
- Product Development: Assist in developing mechanical concepts, prototypes, and final designs based on product specifications and engineering standards.
- Material & Component Selection: Research and select appropriate materials, fasteners, and standard components considering cost, strength, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Tolerance Analysis: Perform basic tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure proper fit, form, and function of interacting parts.
- Prototyping & Testing: Support the fabrication of prototypes, participate in laboratory testing, and document test results to validate design performance.
- Documentation: Maintain complete and organized engineering documentation, including Bill of Materials (BOM), engineering change notices (ECN), and design reports.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: 0 to 3 years of experience in mechanical design (relevant internships, co-ops, or major academic design projects are highly preferred).
- CAD Proficiency: Hands-on experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Creo, or AutoCAD.
- Core Fundamentals: Strong understanding of core mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and strength of materials.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Basic familiarity with manufacturing processes such as injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, machining, or 3D printing.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and a collaborative team spirit.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience or coursework in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles (ASME Y14.5).
- Prior experience working within a formal Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Product Data Management (PDM) system.
