Position description: Jindal Ferrous Limited is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our Blast Furnace - E&A department in a leadership capacity. The role involves overseeing the electrical and automation systems critical to the efficient operation of blast furnace processes within the mining and metals industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing technical teams, ensuring system reliability, optimizing performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position demands a strong blend of technical expertise, project management capabilities, and leadership skills to support the company’s commitment to operational excellence and safety standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the electrical and automation team within the Blast Furnace department to ensure seamless operation and maintenance of all related systems.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and troubleshooting protocols for electrical and automation equipment to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, and safety to align operational goals and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of new electrical and automation systems to support blast furnace operations.
- Analyze system performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate procurement of electrical components and automation technologies in line with project requirements and budget constraints.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies in all electrical and automation activities within the blast furnace environment.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and presentations for senior management to support decision-making processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by integrating advanced automation solutions and adopting best practices in electrical system management.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians to build a competent and motivated team.
