JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pre-Press Team Lead to oversee and manage our pre-press operations. The ideal candidate will bring over 15 years of expertise in the pre-press and print publishing domain, possessing in-depth knowledge of industry-standard tools, processes, and design-to-print workflows. This role is pivotal in ensuring print-ready files are delivered with precision, speed, and creativity, while also mentoring and leading a team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities
File Preparation & Modification
- Prepare, review, and modify print-ready files based on client specifications.
- Work with original artwork and convert various file formats into production-ready outputs.
- Execute pre-press tasks for commercial print jobs including brochures, catalogues, etc.
Client Interaction
- Liaise with clients to ensure proper file creation and educate team on pre-press standards and requirements.
- Collaborate with team to resolve any production issues and ensure final output meets quality expectations.
Design, Layout & Color Management
- Demonstrate a high level of expertise in layout creation, design adaptation, clone work, and image composition.
- Perform accurate color correction and manage proofs to align with press results.
- Translate creative designs into technically sound and practical print layouts.
Team Leadership & Training
- Lead, guide, and mentor a team of pre-press professionals.
- Provide training on file preparation, digital and conventional output, and the use of tools and workflows.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of both industry trends and internal software/hardware systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Print Publishing, Pre-Press, or Desktop Publishing.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in pre-press, with a strong understanding of the full print production workflow.
- Strong command of color theory and troubleshooting for output devices and printing presses.
- Proven ability to thrive in high-pressure, high-volume production environments.
