Job Description – Commis Chef (Commis I, II & III)

Location: Brotein Bistro
Reports To: Chef de Partie (CDP), Sous Chef, Head Chef
Position Summary
The Commis Chef is responsible for assisting in food preparation, maintaining kitchen hygiene standards, and ensuring consistent quality of dishes served at Brotein Bistro. The role provides hands-on training and development within a fast-paced café and restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items as per recipe standards.
- Perform mise en place and station setup before service.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients (FIFO).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Support senior chefs during service to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages promptly.
- Minimize food wastage and ensure portion control.
- Assist in receiving and checking deliveries.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen and service teams.
Commis Level RequirementsCommis III (Entry Level)
- 0–1 year of kitchen experience.
- Basic understanding of food preparation techniques.
- Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
Commis II
- 1–2 years of relevant kitchen experience.
- Ability to independently handle basic prep and cooking tasks.
- Good knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety practices.
Commis I
- 2–3 years of relevant kitchen experience.
- Capable of handling a section under minimal supervision.
- Ability to guide junior commis staff and trainees.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
