Role Overview:
We are looking for a Desktop Engineer with networking knowledge to provide end-user technical support and maintain desktop systems, laptops, and basic network infrastructure. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing IT assets, supporting network connectivity, and ensuring smooth IT operations for employees.
Key Responsibilities
Desktop & End User Support
Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and office applications.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access requests.
Diagnose and resolve hardware issues (RAM, HDD/SSD, motherboard, peripherals).
Install and update software, drivers, and security patches.
Provide remote and onsite support to end users.
Networking Support
Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity issues for users.
Configure and support IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and network connectivity.
Assist in basic router and switch configuration.
Monitor and resolve Wi-Fi connectivity issues.
Support VPN connectivity and remote access issues.
IT Infrastructure Support
Assist in network cable management and patch panel connectivity.
Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation.
Support system backups and antivirus updates.
Coordinate with vendors for hardware repair and replacement.
Helpdesk & Ticketing
Manage incidents using ticketing systems and maintain proper documentation.
Ensure SLA compliance for issue resolution.
Escalate complex technical issues to L2/L3 support teams.
Technical Skills / Basic Skill Set
Strong knowledge of desktop hardware and troubleshooting.
Need Exp or Knowledge in Local application support.
Knowledge in Office 365 & Data Backup
Experience with Windows OS installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
Understanding of Azure Active Directory user management and group policies.
Knowledge of printer and network device configuration.
Familiarity with IT support tools and remote support software.
Basic exposure to network monitoring or troubleshooting tools.
Knowledge in Azure Sentinel Deployment
Required Qualifications
BE, B.Tec, IT, or Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
CompTIA Network+
ITIL Foundation Certification
